Spanish
Spanish gives students an appreciation for second language learning and diverse cultures and provides an opportunity to teach how God desires to use his children to impact the world globally.
The Spanish curriculum is designed to develop, reinforce and refine foreign language learning through listening, speaking, reading, writing and cultural study.
Students in third through sixth grade have unit assessments which gauge individual student progress. Assessments allow students to see their growth as second-language learners. Fifth and sixth graders are assigned semester projects such as writing their own children's book.
Missionaries in Spanish speaking countries are studied quarterly. Lower grades learn the geograhy of the country and upper grades research the country's capital, currency and culture. Students learn how God is at work in countries around the world.
